Listen up!
The American Heretics didn’t come together to play it safe—we’re here to shake things up, tear down bullshit norms, and make noise that actually means something. Blending high-energy punk rock with influences from across the alt and indie scenes, we write songs that dig into social issues, call out injustice, wrestle with personal battles, and refuse to sugarcoat the human experience.
We’re not here to follow the formula and we don’t pull punches. Our music is for the outsiders, the overthinkers, the pissed-off and the passionate. We believe punk is about more than sound—it’s about self-expression, rebellion, and connection.
At the core of The American Heretics is a DIY spirit and a drive to build a community around real music, real stories, and raw emotion. Whether we’re on stage or in your headphones, we’re here to spark thought, start conversations, and remind people they’re not alone.
RELIGIO-POLITICAL HERESY & PUNK ROCK
Make no mistake about it, The American Heretics have arrived on the music scene! This explosive pop punk band is already making waves with their rebellious sound and unapologetic message. Their high-energy, anti-establishment rock is as contagious as it is defiant. Lead singer Lee Hayes’ vocals are raw, smoky, and piercing. The drum beats are blistering, and the guitar duo of Sean Ciccione and Hayes drives the whole train down the tracks. Hayes, a formerly signed artist with Firma Music Group, has seen national radio play and even had songs hit the Billboard charts. But after leaving Evangelicalism and his former Christian label, he hit the “reset” button on his music career. The American Heretics is that reset — a bold new chapter in pop punk rebellion.
Having already released a slew of covers and three original singles, The American Heretics' rebellious pop punk heart shines through. And it does so while delivering a memorable blend of high-energy punk rock and clever pop-rock hooks. Their latest single, “American Heresy,” is pure pop punk angst — guaranteed to have you singing along, banging your head, and ready to burn some shit down.
The American Heretics are hell-bent on upending the unholy trinity of Christian Nationalism, capitalism, and racism. As former members of the evangelical movement turned punk rock outsiders, they don’t shy away from the big issues. Substance abuse, sex, religion, racism, and politics are all fair game in Hayes’ lyrics. “There has been real harm caused to society by the American Evangelical movement,” he says. “Its union with far-right politics is disgusting.”
Anyone who wants to see a more equitable and just society — free from religious control — will connect with The American Heretics and their message. This is pop punk with purpose. This is rebellion with a rhythm.
